ABOUT
Alec Weeks (b. 2003, California) is a NYC-based photographer and multidisciplinary artist whose work explores identity, anonymity, and societal pressures in a hyper-mediated world. Combining photography, painting, and sculpture, his practice is defined by its surreal, transgressive, and often unsettling qualities. Through a deeply introspective approach, Alec investigates themes of intimacy, ambiguity, narcissism, and self-delusion, positioning the body as both subject and symbol of cultural transformation.
His photographic work delves into the darker elements of identity, while his surrealist-inspired paintings critique the intersections of fashion, religion, and time. Alec’s multidisciplinary approach bridges fine art and conceptual critique, challenging conventional notions of beauty and representation.
Alec received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography & Experimental Media from the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia in December 2024. His work has been exhibited in group shows such as the LCAD Laguna Bluebelt Exhibition in Laguna Beach, CA (2024), the Lyndon House 49th Annual Juried Exhibition in Athens, GA (2024), and La Mostra in Cortona, Italy (2023, 2021). His contributions have earned him accolades such as the 2024 Lyndon House Arts Foundation Award for Excellence and several international photography awards. Alec’s work has also appeared in Flagpole Magazine, Wonderland Magazine, and Popular 1 Magazine.
